SCADA & HMI Development using Rockwell FactoryTalk View (Configuration, Operation, Troubleshooting & Maintenance)
This five-day practical course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to design, configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain SCADA and HMI systems using Rockwell FactoryTalk View (SE & ME). The program provides deep-dive, hands-on exposure to project creation, tag management, graphics development, alarms, data logging, trending, communication setup, and diagnostic tools. Real-world exercises are used to simulate plant-level SCADA applications and maintenance scenarios.
Duration: 5 days
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of PLCs (preferably Allen-Bradley/RSLogix/Studio 5000), Basic computer & networking skills and Industrial automation/controls background (recommended)
Course objectives
- Understand the architecture and components of FactoryTalk View ME & SE systems
- Develop HMI/SCADA applications including navigation, graphics, alarms, and trends
- Configure and manage tags, data logging, events, and historical trends
- Interface SCADA with Allen-Bradley PLCs via EtherNet/IP
- Perform system diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Implement user security, backup, and recovery procedures
- Apply best practices for industrial SCADA design and maintenance
