Plumbing & Pipefitting Technology (Theory & Practical Applications)
This course provides participants with a solid working knowledge of industrial bearings and lubrication systems, focusing on correct selection, proper installation, lubrication practices, condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance strategies.Participants will learn how to improve rotating equipment reliability, extend bearing life, prevent premature failures, reduce downtime, and optimize lubrication programs in industrial environments such as manufacturing plants, utilities, oil & gas, mining, processing plants, and OEM workshops. This course provides participants with both theoretical knowledge and strong practical skills in plumbing and industrial pipefitting. It covers the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems for residential, commercial, and industrial facilities — including water supply, drainage, fire protection, HVAC piping, and process piping systems.Participants will learn pipe materials, fittings, joining methods, code requirements, safety practices, blueprint reading, system layout, pressure testing, leak detection, and good workmanship standards.Emphasis is placed on hands-on workshop practice to build competence and confidence for field applications.
Course objectives
- Understand the working principles of major pump and control valve types
- Identify pipe types, fittings, valves, and accessories
- Interpret plumbing & piping drawings and symbols
- Fabricate and install piping systems correctly and safely
- Apply proper pipe joining methods — threading, soldering, welding basics, gluing, flanged joints
- Lay out water supply & drainage systems
- Install sanitary fixtures and appliances
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection & commissioning
- Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting
- Follow codes, standards & safety procedures
- Work effectively as skilled plumbing/pipefitting technicians
