Centrifugal & Positive Displacement Pumps (Operation, Troubleshooting & Maintenance)
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain centrifugal and positive displacement (PD) pumps used across industrial, utility, oil & gas, water, and process facilities.Participants will learn pump principles, components, performance characteristics, installation requirements, failure mechanisms, troubleshooting techniques, preventive maintenance strategies, and safe operating practices.The program blends classroom learning with practical demonstrations and case-based problem solving to build confidence and competence in the field.

Prerequisites: Basic Knowledge of mechanical systems and safety practices is recommended
Course objectives
- Understand the working principles of major pump and control valve types
- Explain the working principles of centrifugal and PD pumps
- Identify key pump components and their functions
- Interpret pump performance curves and system characteristics
- Start up, operate, and shut down pumps safely and correctly
- Diagnose and troubleshoot common pump faults
- Understand causes and prevention of cavitation and vibration
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on pumps
- Carry out alignment, sealing, lubrication, and inspection tasks
- Improve system reliability and pump operating life
