Basic First Aid Training

This two (2) days intensive program equips participants with essential knowledge to respond effectively to workplace injuries and medical emergencies.The course focuses on first aid principles, CPR awareness, wound care, fracture management, and emergency response coordination for industrial and workplace environments.

Prerequisites: No formal medical background requiredBasic literacy and communication skills

Course objectives

Understand the principles of first aid and emergency care
Assess and prioritize injured or ill persons safely
Apply CPR principles and manage choking emergencies
Control bleeding, manage burns, fractures, and shock
Recognize common medical emergencies and coordinate professional response

Module 1 Introduction to First Aid & Emergency Response

Definition and importance of first aid
Legal and ethical considerations
First aid responsibilities in industrial workplaces
Common workplace injuries and emergencies
Principles of emergency response (DRABC)

Module 2 CPR & Choking Management

Basic anatomy of the heart and lungs
CPR principles for adults, children, and infants
Awareness of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
Causes and management of choking

Module 3 Bleeding, Shock & Wound Management

Types of bleeding and control methods
Wound cleaning and dressing principles
Recognition and management of shock
Burns, scalds, and chemical exposure response

Module 4 Fractures, Sprains & Medical Emergencies

Types of fractures and dislocations
Immobilization principles using splints and slings
Management of sprains and strains
Response to heart attack, stroke, seizure, and diabetic emergencies

Module 5 Workplace Emergency Coordination & Incident Response

Integrating first aid into workplace emergency plans
Coordination with emergency and medical services
Managing multiple casualty situations
Post-incident documentation and reporting
